We bring the funk to electronic and live music, playing music from across the world to focus on groove above genre. Our only rule is: as long as it’s funky, it’s welcome.
We keep it funky in everything we do-- our events are creative, our locations are open, our people are quirky, and our musicians are diverse. To FUNK-IT is to live outside of the box.

Story
2021
Just as pandemic restrictions started to lift in the summer of 2021, Funk It! founders were invited to DJ at Xiringuito Duna, a beach-bar alongside the airport of Barcelona. The open, natural, and beautiful location inspired the funky, uplifting, international electronic sounds of the event. The group of 4 DJs (Simon Better Late, HannahLuyah, Guto Fernandez & Hanakito) began a bi-monthly residency and called it, Funk It!
Funk It! continues the original beach residency each summer, and takes the music to the city for the rest of the year, at special open-space venues. We have grown our team, crowd and repertoire, to incorporate live musicians, high-quality food and drinks, and showcases from our community: including art exhibitions, and health & wellness activities such as massage and meditation.
